A new educational software for creating digital three-dimensional models was tried out by elementary and secondary school students. This article presents the results of the pilot program. The software, by the name Engino KidCAD, fills a gap of the Design and Technology subject concerning the way that students’ design their building ideas. The Cypriot curriculum suggests the use of CAD design systems within the classroom, but there is no such software available for students. The research provides some interesting views and reactions from educators and students, while it brings up its great educational value, as far as the development of new skills is concerned and the upgrade of the design process with modern methods.
