The purpose of the journal is to be a forum for the research of the teaching and learning of mathematics in all levels, from pre-school to university education, as well as for the development of a fruitful and scientifically grounded discussion regarding mathematics education.   The journal publishes articles from a wide variety of studies, such as experimental research, ethnographic studies, case studies, action research, reviews, theoretical options etc., provided that they meet the evaluation criteria of scientific journal.   Special issues may also include articles aimed at familiarising class teachers with the teacher-researcher model, such as work on classroom experiments, pedagogical use of teaching tools, tools and materials, innovative applications and innovations in which teachers are involved.
